Best bun bo hue in Seattle!
I visited Hoang Lan while I was in Othello by accident...I was actually trying to eat at the Vietnamese restaurant next door 'til me and a couple others saw a sign that said they were closed until later this month. Therefore, I went next door to Hoang Lan, still craving some noodle soup.
Now, Hoang Lan is known for their bun bo hue and that is exactly what you should order. They even have it on their sign out front, that they serve bun bo hue, and it's featured at the top of the menu. Get it. Don't even bother getting anything else here (though I am sure it's good).
I ordered a small bun bo hue and it was absolutely delicious. It had all the legit stuff like banana blossom topping, cubes of pork blood and tendon, in addition to the meatballs, rice noodles and wonderful broth. I almost wished I had ordered a large bowl, just to have slurped more of the broth, but the small size is a good portion. I really enjoyed the bun bo hue, as everything complemented one another. Meatballs were a large size, tendon was savory, and the pork blood added awesome flavor to the broth. Until I visit Vietnam, this is the best bun bo hue I've had! -

I loved the bun bu hue. I came here at the recommendation of a friend and it did not disappoint. It was reasonably priced for $10 for a large and had a good variety of meat (pig knuckle, several meatballs, pig blood and slices of beef). The soup was flavorful and the side of vegetables were the perfect compliment to this medium spicy broth. I can't wait to go back again on another rainy day!
I noticed other reviews say that this place is cash only. I asked the cashier on 8/15/19 if they took card and was able to pay with my Visa. I don't think the cash only tip is accurate anymore.

My mom has been coming here for years and we absolutely love the BBH here. The broth is tasty. I usually order a large and share with someone. I want to try the other dishes they have here but my stomach always leads towards the BBH. They're quick and allow substitutions. If you're like me and not a fan of pig feet or blood, def swap it out for more meatballs.
The only downside about this place is that it is cash only so make sure you have that on hand. -

My favorite bun bo hue places ever. I would specifically drive from lynnwood just to eat their dishes!

Amazing Bun Bo Hue! If you've never had it, it's a type of noodle soup that contains rice vermicelli and beef. Some people say it's similar to Pho, but BBH actually has a different taste. It is slightly spicier but flavorful, not like dumping sriracha into pho.
It also has different ingredients such as pork hog and pork blood (if you're not a fan of these, you can ask them to take it out). Overall I would definitely come back if I'm in the area.
